06 · When you turn 18

Funding for when you're 18 or older

Not for under-18s, but worth knowing about now so you can plan ahead.

07 · Enter smart

How to enter without getting burned

  1. Never pay a stranger to enter

Every competition on this page is run by an organisation you can look up. If a "competition" you don't recognise asks for a fee or your bank details, walk away.

  2. Under 18? Bring a parent in

Most organisers need a parent or guardian to agree to the rules when you register. Do it together.

  3. Read the official rules

Ages, deadlines and fees change every year. The organiser's page always wins over anything on this site.

  4. Start early

Teams, coaches and good ideas take time. Pick one competition, put the deadline in your calendar and work back from it.
